Member Articles: The Use of Garlic to fight Ich in Salt Water Tanks
Salt Water Fish Related ArticlesDraxx writes "Garlic is used in a couple different ways in the hobby. The main use is as a food soak/supplement. People soak their fish food in a liquid garlic solution before feeding for 30 - 60 minutes. This allows the food proper time to absorb some of the garlic so that when the food goes into the water the garlic is not just 'washed away'. "

Member Articles: Setting Up A Nano Reef
Articles for Beginning HobbiestsNano reefs have brought hobbyist a whole new world of aquariums. Instead of a large 55+ gallon reef, Nano Reefs bring something more to the hobby. In a larger Reef you see large corals, fish rocks and such, but what you don’t really see is the different forms of life on the rocks. In a Nano Reef things are easier to see. Reason being, the tank is smaller and your eye is focused on a limited amount of space. People viewing a Nano Reef see the assortment of Macro Algae growing on the live rock as well as sponges, coralline algae, corals and even animal life. However, in a larger reef there eyes aren’t focused on the small crevices in the rock, there eyes are focused on the large corals which have fish swimming trough them. So, Nano Reefs aren’t just a small tank but, a whole new environment in which things are easier to see.
